The Make a Wish Foundation is famous for making dreams come true. Children with life-threatening illnesses are given a once in a lifetime opportunity to live out their greatest dream. For some of these special children the dream is to simply meet someone they admire while others prefer to take their families on an unforgettable adventure. One child chose a small dream to ask for from the Make a Wish Foundation. Terrence is a six-year-old boy who asked for a request was granted by the Make a Wish Foundation for the little boy but the organization didn’t stop at just that. They made the day and the night unforgettable for Terrence and his family. The special request that Terrence made was granted on a special day. The Make a Difference Day is an annual event held in Memphis, Tennessee and this was the chosen day for the dream to come true. The Make a Wish Foundation of the Mid-South teamed up with UAW-GM to make certain that the little boy’s dream came true even better than he could possibly wish and they were successful. The two groups worked together to build an outstanding playground especially for Marquis. The day began with the family making a grand entrance. The Make a Wish Foundation set up a red carpet especially for the family at Rainbow Play Systems in Memphis, Tennessee. General Motors representatives and their families applauded for Terrence and his loved ones as they entered the massive room. The attendants at the Rainbow Play Systems gave Terrence the honorable title of king for the day. The kingdom was the huge playground in the building. The thrilled little boy had full access to any of the playground sets that were in the building. He could play on all of them for as long as he liked. Terrence was not the only one who felt like royalty on the special day. The Make a Wish Foundation also made arrangements for the boy’s six siblings to accompany him on his adventure. They played an intricate game of hide-and-seek and once Terrence found all of his brothers and sisters hiding in his kingdom, he was directed to the Make a Wish Foundation’s final surprise. The surprise that the Make a Wish Foundation had in store for this little boy was outstanding. He was presented a picture of his future playground that was being built at his home. The organization erected the playground in collaboration with General Motors. Terrence’s dream came true for that special day and for all of his days that follow. He is king of his playground always.
